Tiffany LAU is a young artist inspired by how childhood toys and gadgets can function as both playful artistic installations and objects for reflection and contemplation. LAU is interested in the concept of 'bitter fun', where kinetic objects can instil a shared emotional sensation, whilst simultaneously reminding us of the contrast between youthful expectations and lived reality. LAU is an expert in interactive electronics to reinterpret familiar objects and transform them into microcosms of experience. She is presenting an expression that deviates from humanity along with passive and helplessness by mechanization.

劉倩婷是一位年輕的藝術家,她的創作靈感來自於童年回憶和小玩意,希望利用這些玩味的東西來形容沉重和反思的主題,藉此回應苦中作樂的觀念。 透過裝置藝術上動態來與觀眾灌輸一種同在的情感,同時提醒我們期望與現實的反差。劉倩婷擅長使用互動式電子設備來重新演繹熟悉的物件,把它們轉化為體驗的縮影,以及透過機械化去呈現一種偏離人性的表達方式來講述被動和無奈的感受。

現時社會留下創傷的起源,茅頭直指了林鄭政府。她被大眾認為是一切損害的始作俑者,「彈出彈入」的決策手法不斷地消耗她與市民之間的信任。當誠信被破壞時,就像一張被弄皺的紙張,永遠不能回復到筆直的模樣。

透過扭動摺紙,屏幕上的「林鄭波波」亦隨之變形和動彈。讓大家惡作劇這位始作俑者,宣洩一下個人情緒,舒緩整個社會的創傷後遺症。

The origin of the trauma in society today was directed at Lam Cheng’s government. The public considers her to be the instigator of all the damage. Her impracticable policy and wavering decision-making continue to consume trust with the public. When people destroy integrity with others, it’s just like a crumpled paper that never returns to the straight look.

By twisting the origami, the Lam Cheng ball will deform and move on the screen. Everyone can prank the instigator to vent personal emotions to soothe  society’s post-traumatic stress disorder.

「三人行必有一人孤單」。COVID-19 和社會運動都杯葛了人與人的關係和距離,以「他們」的名字,我們拒絕了與人的來往,也借此與政治立場不同的人斷絕來往。試想像,大家成為了三人的談論中被排斥的一位,但也只能眼看和跟隨「他們」的發展,被「他們」拒絕參與,這種無奈的情況已經慢慢滲入於所有人每一個生活細節,令人無所適從。

"There must be one person alone in the group of three people." COVID-19 and social movements have taken up the relationship and distance between people. As the name of "them", we reject contact with people and interrupt the connection with people with different political orientations. Just imagine that you have become the person who has been ostracized and refused to join the group conversation. Also, you are only allowed to see and follow their (COVID-19 and social movements) development passively. This helpless situation has slowly seeped into every detail of everyone's life, which is confusing.
