The tissue box

Mixed media on sculpture

101 × 75 × 51 cm

2018

The message of rescaling a tissue box is to remind people not to enlarge their sadness. People can easily magnify their obstacles and bitterness in life. I hope people can deliberate once more when they see the size of the tissue box is rescaled. I brought my artwork onto the street because I want to remind people about the joy of life. These photos were taken in the old district of Hong Kong, To Kwa Wan, where I wish to bring happiness and positivity into this area. I put the tissue box near the public facilities to emphasise the relationship between the community and the artwork.

Reborn

Crying is inevitable in our lives. Although crying is often associated with weakness or loss, from a positive perspective, it is also a method to become a better and stronger person. It is also part of our growth and a kind of experience that allows us to undergo transformation and epiphany. Butterflies remind us that a bright future is ahead of us, we have to look forward and one day we will spread our wings and soar.
